Care and Maintenance

Generally, porcelain tiles or ceramic tiles have a water absorption rate of less than 0.5 percent. The clay used to build porcelain tiles is generally denser. They can either be glazed or unglazed. Grout is generally a mixture of water, cement, and sand and is employed in sealing joints between tiles.

Do’s

  • Use a neutral floor cleaning product.
  • Put plastic trays under potted plants.

  • Clean dust on floor tiles regularly.
  • Use door mats on floors.

Dont’s

  • Use Acidic or high alkaline cleaning products

Frequently
Asked
Questions

How often should tile & grout be professionally cleaned?

Every 12-18 months, based on use. Our Dublin Tile & Grout Restoration service deep-cleans grout, lifts grit, refreshes sealer, and preserves a natural, luxurious finish across high-traffic areas.

What does tile & grout care cost in Dublin & Leinster?

It depends on area, condition, access, and scope—Cleaning, Sealing, Polishing, Repairs, or Full Diamond Grinding. We provide fixed, written quotes after survey, tailored to premium homes and design projects.

Do my tile & grout floors need sealing? How often?

Yes—every 12–36 months. We use premium penetrating sealers that keep tile & grout looking completely natural while resisting oils, dyes, and spills, lowering maintenance and extending polish longevity.

What’s included in full tile & Grout floor restoration?

Not recommended for porcelain or ceramic tiles – Full diamond grinding removing top surface and any lippage, deep cleaning, repairs, grout reconditioning or replacing, honing, precision polishing, and penetrating sealing—reviving to a new, elegant finish while respecting the stone’s character.

Will sealing make daily tile & grout care easier?

Yes. Penetrating sealers reduce absorption so soils sit on the surface longer, making cleaning quicker and safer. They preserve a pure, natural look and consistent sheen in high-traffic zones.
