Bringing natural stone back to life

By assessing your marble during your FREE consultation Stone Seal aim to provide you with the best solution for your stone whether you require professional cleaning, sealing, polishing or restoration. We will recommend the right process and sealer for your marble.

Care and Maintenance

Marble is a metamorphic rock consisting mostly of calcite and dolomite. It is formed by the metamorphism of limestone over time and temperature changes. When most people think of marble, they imagine a hard stone that is white with grey markings. In reality, it is one of the softer stones and can also have irregularly coloured marks due to the presence of impurities such as silica and clay.

Do’s

  • Use a neutral floor cleaning product
  • Put plastic trays under potted plants
  • Put plastic or felt coasters beneath wood and metal furniture feet
  • Clean dust on natural floor tile regularly
  • Use door mats on marble floors

Dont’s

  • Use Acidic or high alkaline cleaning products
  • Use scouring powders & abrasives, they can scratch the natural stone
  • Use coatings such as waxes on natural stone floors
  • Use rubber and fibre pads, they can scratch natural stone floors
